Mates
Bikes
Without
the help of my mates , none of my streetfighters would have ever existed !
, Where possible I've mentioned them in the various build up articles ,
Here is my chance to say thanks to them once again , and feature the
bikes that they've built themselves in their own special gallery !

I've
known Jon Davies for yonks ! - he's the definitive GSXR nut , and
has owned this particular GSXR almost since new. Over the years it's
undergone several complete metamorphoses. In the early days- Jon
successfully drag raced this bike in the ACU series for many seasons -
picking up shelf full's of trophy's along the way . Jon is a superbly
skilled engineer , and has hand made many of the one off machined parts
for my streetfighters .These days his GSXR spends much of it's life on
various race tracks around the country . Jon makes use of his skills
on his own bike too , and has concentrated on a steady evolution of his
ultimate GSXR - each time i see it , it's gotten lighter , faster and
tricker than the time before ! |

I
was introduced to Keith Farley when I was hunting for someone to paint my
first streetfighter - the GPz , and we've remained very firm friends ever
since. Having been a car refinisher for many years and a biker too, Keith
turned his talents and unique imagination to custom painting helmets. He taught
himself to airbrush and hasn't looked back since. Many of the bikes that
he's painted over the years have graced the pages of StreetFighters
Magazine & Performace Bikes too . Keith's skill is not only limited to
his airbrushing either , as his unique Yamaha FZR 1000 shows. |

Another
one of 'the lads' , this is Daniel 'Cho' Smith's first self built streetfighter
- based on an early slabside 1100 , it was potent enough to show a
clean pair of heels to many of the modern sports bikes ! . In the last pic
you can see how Cho has honed his skills as a very competent stunt rider.
|
Stuart
Bramham is one of my mates that I know from work. Stu has always had
an affinity for all things turbo charged , and being an electrical
engineer as well as technically clued up , he's bit the bullet and
is currently building his own , fully home brewed GSXR complete with
bespoke engine management system ! |

and continues to do so. Exhibited at the Streetfighters Show 2005 , and
due to be featured in SF Mag soon. |

After
the sale of his Slabby , and a brief flit with an assortment of super bikes
, Danny went back to his roots and bought this slingshot GSXR , already
fitted with a host of exotic and trick parts (but looking
rather sorry for it's self ) It was ripe for streetfightering , and after
binning the existing plastics and fitting a GSXR 1000 K2 seat unit, Danny rebuilt the bike from the ground up ,adding new goodies, polishing and
painting along the way - to end up with this very trick GSXR. |

For
Mick , working alongside Keith has had it's advantages , a long time Streetfighter
fan , Mick has built all sorts of GSXR based 'fighters from a very trick
WP powered Spondon , to a stretched out Drag racer named 'phoenix'. His
latest creation is this unique Slabby , which Mick has hand made all the
bodywork from carbon fibre and incorporated his own 'signature piece' of a
very short seat unit - like his previous builds. Again ,like his other
bikes , Keith was drafted in to apply the artwork on the panels to Mick's
own design. And again like his other 2 GSXR's has been exhibited at the
Streetfighter shows and featured in the magazine too. |

Tommy

Tommy
deserves a special mention on my website - during the build of my 7/11 I
spotted the rare yoshi duplex system on American eBay that I just had to
have. The seller wouldn't sell or ship outside of the USA so I was
buggered .I posted a plea on a few yank Suzuki forums , and Tom offered to
help me out. We got chatting and and it turned out that he worked for FedEx
in Tennessee- Bonus !
Since
then , Tom has shipped over many of the bargains that I've managed to find
in the USA. Occasionally I've been able to return the favour - Toms
current Streetfighter project ( this 929 'Blade ) is probably the only one
in America with modded speedfight headlamp faring ( they don't have Peugeot
scooters in the USA !) future plans for toms bike include a single sided
rear end , renthals & risers , and a radical paint job . |
